Good Wool Has Always Looked Expensive. Forza Is Designed to Survive Looking That Way.
SPOKE's new eight-piece Italian wool collection brings tailoring, outerwear and everyday dressing together in one unusually hard-wearing fabric.
Good wool has always looked expensive. Forza is designed to survive looking that way.
SPOKE's new eight-piece collection takes fine Italian wool and threads it with CORDURA® fibre. The result is a fabric that looks like tailoring but behaves more like something you could actually live in.
The jacket is Italian. The attitude is British. The fabric has been engineered to survive both.
It holds its shape. It resists creasing. It can deal with rain. It can spend an afternoon in the back of your car and still look like you made an effort. Which, depending on your schedule, may just be the most useful thing a jacket can do.
The idea behind Forza is simple. Take one exceptional fabric and build a wardrobe around it.
GOT YOU COVERED
There is a Stormbreaker, a windbreaker with stretch ribbing, a funnel collar, four pockets and a double-ended zip for when the Scottish weather inevitably turns.
The Mac is more traditional. Water-resistant. Ripstop lined. Roomy enough for a layer underneath. It is the sort of coat that works equally well over tailoring or whatever you wore when you left the house in a hurry.
Then there is the Vest, designed to slip underneath a winter coat without adding bulk. Four zipped pockets. A dual zip. Cotton rib collar.
Practical, doesn’t have to mean looking practical.
The Jack is SPOKE's signature unstructured jacket and gives a clear idea of what Forza can achieve. Minimal padding. Patch pockets. Visible pick stitching. A relaxed construction that still looks put together. With 42 sizes available, think of it as tailoring without the ceremony.
The Overshirt takes the same approach from another direction. It borrows its shape from a chore coat, adds functional chest pockets and a sharp collar, with a fabric that reads as tailoring. It’s a chore coat with better dinner plans.
Then come the trousers
Smarts is the most polished of the three. There is an invisible ticket pocket, a French bearer and side adjusters instead of belt loops. It is designed for the occasions where the dress code is less suggestion and more instruction.
Pleats takes its cues from traditional British tailoring, with a higher rise, forward pleats and a fuller line through the thigh. There is something reassuringly old-fashioned about it, although the fabric is anything but.
And then there are Fridays. A chino. Almost.
The elastic sits at the hips, the drawstring is concealed and there is none of the visual language normally associated with the word “comfortable”.
custom-fit
The entire collection is available in SPOKE's custom-fit sizing system, allowing the cut, chest or waist measurement and length to be selected independently. It is a simple idea, but one that makes considerable sense.
Most men are not built to the same proportions as the man printed on the size guide. SPOKE simply accepts this.
The result is a wardrobe that feels less interested in seasonal fashion and more interested in getting things right. Eight pieces. One fabric. Enough combinations to cover the working week, the weekend and the slightly vague period in between when you have somewhere to be but aren't entirely sure of what the dress code means.
It works for the man who has somewhere to be at eight and doesn't want to change at six.
The appeal of Forza is ultimately less complicated than the technology behind the fabric.
It looks good. Then it keeps looking good.
The Italian wool provides the polish. The CORDURA® fibre provides the resilience. Together, they make a case for menswear that can move through a day without needing constant attention.
Because good menswear should work as hard as the man wearing it.
And preferably look better doing it.
