Perfect Partner for a Bank Holiday Brunch

As the legend goes the Buck’s Fizz was originally served, one hundred years ago, at the Buck’s club in London, as an excuse to begin drinking earlier in the day. Nowadays, the refreshing tipple is synonymous with Christmas morning - but we reckon it’s the perfect accompaniment to any Bank Holiday brunch.

Here’s how to make the perfect Buck’s Fizz to bring cheer to your lazy Monday.

The recipe calls for two parts fizz to one part orange juice, while our friends across the pond like to call it a Mimosa and have it with a lower alcohol content, one part fizz to two parts juice. Your drink, you choose!

You can, of course, use Prosecco for your cocktail but for real punch and maximum authenticity we’d recommend cracking open the good stuff and using Champagne. If you fancy it try squeezing your own orange juice, extra effort but we think you can really taste the difference.

Add the orange juice first, then the fizz, gently stir with a bar spoon and garnish with a slice of orange!
