The exclusive private dining room at The Balmoral’s restaurant, Number One, offers an elegant setting for truly wonderful experiences this festive season. The intimate dining space presents a sophisticated design aligned with impeccable service and seasonally sourced ingredients for private events, seating up to 10 guests. Head Chef Mathew Sherry, alongside the expert sommelier and award-winning restaurant team, can create a bespoke menu to suit each individual guest and occasion.

Live music at Bar Prince

An evening to remember in Edinburgh is spent enjoying live music at The Balmoral’s Bar Prince. Throughout November and December, a wonderful line-up of musicians will be playing at the iconic hotel’s bar. Step inside and let the bustle of Princes Street fade away as you take a seat in one of the cornflower-blue leather chairs or perch at the bar, decorated with gleaming copper barware.

The live music sessions will take place with performances every Saturday in November and December, including special performances on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Musicians such as Robert Berry, Catherine Ward, Rhian Ferrigan, Amy Reader and Hayley McKay will be performing throughout the winter months.

The perfect Sunday roast

After a morning spent exploring the city’s enchanting Old Town and browsing the unique shops dotted across the Royal Mile, there is nothing more delightful than finishing the afternoon with a delicious Sunday roast served at The Balmoral’s Brasserie Prince, the perfect setting for a wintery Sunday afternoon.

Settle in to the chic and relaxed Brasserie Prince with an indulgent Sunday roast, which includes perfectly prepared roast sirloin of Scottish beef, beef dripping roast potatoes coupled with seasonal vegetables and delicious Yorkshire puddings.

Dinner by candlelight

The iconic hotel's restaurant, Brasserie Prince, will be illuminated by candlelight, creating an extra sense of intimacy every Monday night till the 18th of December.

The Brasserie Prince team will once again turn off all lights each Monday evening and swap them for lanterns, tealights and, unique to this year, edible candles made from herb infused beef tallow. After admiring the gleaming edible candles, guests will be able to dip perfectly prepared french baguette into the indulgent and flavoursome melted tallow.
