ALO is Opening in Edinburgh this Autumn

Edinburgh’s luxury shopping line-up is about to get a little more West Coast wellness. ALO, the Los Angeles brand that helped turn studio-to-street dressing into a global movement, is opening its first Scottish store this November at Multrees Walk.

Set to open at 16–17 Multrees Walk, the new Edinburgh space marks ALO’s latest UK expansion and brings the brand’s polished take on activewear, wellness and lifestyle to the capital for the first time.

If you know ALO, you will know it sits in that sweet spot between performance and polish. This is the label behind the sleek leggings, sculpting sets and off-duty layers that work just as well for a reformer class or coffee run as they do for long-haul travel, dog walks and the sort of everyday dressing that now demands comfort without looking too casual. Think elevated activewear with a strong fashion following, all filtered through a glossy LA wellness lens.

And if I am honest, ALO was on my daughters’ radar before it was on mine. On a recent trip to Dublin, we were shopping around Grafton Street when they spotted the ALO logo and immediately went into full fangirl mode. That instant recognition told me everything I needed to know. This is a brand with real pull for a younger, style-conscious customer who sees activewear as part of their everyday wardrobe rather than something reserved purely for the gym.

For Edinburgh, it feels like a smart addition. Multrees Walk has become the city’s home for luxury retail, but ALO brings something slightly different to the mix. Less formal fashion destination, more lifestyle space. A store designed not just around what you wear, but how you live, move and switch off.

Founded in Los Angeles in 2007, ALO has built its name on studio-to-street clothing rooted in yoga, mindfulness and recovery. Alongside its fashion collections, the brand’s wider world includes wellness products, community events and an online platform offering thousands of classes and fitness sessions. The Edinburgh opening will bring that broader brand universe north, giving Scottish shoppers access to the immersive ALO experience without needing to head to London.

It also speaks to a bigger shift in how we shop now. The appetite for luxury wellness brands has grown steadily in recent years, as fashion, fitness and self-care have become increasingly intertwined. The rise of the “wellness wardrobe” has made brands like ALO as relevant to a city lunch date as they are to a morning yoga class, and Edinburgh, with its appetite for style-led lifestyle brands, feels like a natural fit.

Opening in November 2026, the new store is expected to become a destination for those who like their activewear hard-working, their layers impeccably cut and their shopping with a side of aspiration.
