Beyond Monet & Beyond Van Gogh Bring Immersive Magic to Edinburgh

Two of the world’s most captivating immersive art experiences are coming to Edinburgh this winter, transforming the Royal Highland Centre into a dreamlike celebration of colour, creativity and imagination. Step inside the world of Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh — and see art like never before.

Where art meets atmosphere

Prepare to be transported. Beyond Monet and Beyond Van Gogh open at the Royal Highland Centre on 29 November, bringing their globally acclaimed immersive worlds north of the border for the very first time. Edinburgh plays host to the Scottish premieres, with each experience staged on different days throughout a five-week run.

Inside, more than 10,000 square feet of light, sound and digital artistry surrounds you — a spectacular meeting of technology and timeless creativity. This isn’t a gallery visit; it’s an experience designed to stir every sense.

Step inside a masterpiece

In Beyond Monet, over 400 of the French painter’s works ripple and shift around you — from the shimmering Water Lilies and radiant Poppies to the dawn glow of Impression: Sunrise. Set to an evocative original score, the experience invites you to wander freely through the Infinity Room, inspired by the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, and feel as though you’ve stepped inside his brushstrokes.

Meanwhile, Beyond Van Gogh celebrates the life and legacy of one of history’s most beloved artists. More than 300 of Van Gogh’s iconic works, including The Starry Night, Sunflowers and Terrace of a Café at Night, come alive across vast projection walls. Together, the movement, music and storytelling create a vivid portrait of the man behind the masterpieces.

A new layer of magic

Exclusive to the Edinburgh experience are two newly unveiled reflection rooms — immersive spaces that extend the enchantment beyond the main gallery. Step into Waterlily Alley, a luminous reimagining of Monet’s gardens at Giverny, or wander Sunflower Alley, a bloom-draped tribute to Van Gogh’s most radiant motif.

After debuting in Liverpool this summer, these additions have become a highlight for visitors around the world — and they make their Scottish debut right here.

A festive season highlight

With flexible entry options, family tickets and a VIP package complete with exclusive merchandise, this is one of the most anticipated cultural events of the season — the perfect festive day out for art lovers of every age.

Anna Parry of Annerin Productions calls it “a wonderful day out for all the family,” and she’s not exaggerating. Expect to leave feeling a little more inspired — and seeing colour everywhere you look.
