Eastside: Edinburgh's new late-night hotspot

The newest addition to Edinburgh’s nightlife scene, Eastside, recently opened on George Street. We headed along to check out what the buzz was all about.

Taking up residence in the former Opal venue, Eastside offers a fresh take on going out in the city’s New Town. Taking a more casual approach than some of its neighbouring bars, Eastside describe themselves as part of the “new late-night revolution”.

Think craft beer, boozy cocktails and street food bites, with great tunes from resident DJs. It’s the sort of place you’ll want to visit with a big group of friends - order a round of drinks, grab yourself a table and enjoy the buzz of the crowd. There’s even a pool table if you’re feeling competitive.

The drinks menu is focused on cocktails and craft beer, with something to keep everyone happy - whether you’re popping in for an after-work drink or getting the party started later in the evening. We’d recommend the Banana Daiquiri Slushy (Pampero Blanco rum, Ciroc Coconut vodka, coconut cream and banana) for those with a sweet tooth, and a can of Fierce Brewing Tangerine Tart for the beer-drinkers.

Eastside is open from 5pm to 3am every night (10pm to 3am on Mondays), making it the ideal late-night spot to enjoy drinks and a bite to eat in one of Edinburgh’s coolest new venues.
