Scottish technical clothing brand, Meander Apparel, has announced that it is pledging to donate 100% of profits to the Covid-19 response fund.

The brand, which specialises in sustainable, technical clothing for everyday wear, is proving popular with Scots looking for versatile and practical performance clothing, and co-founders Jill and Steve Henry are keen to ensure that they can play their part in the current emergency response.

Jill Henry explains, “We’re thankful that we primarily sell online and can still ship our orders, but we were feeling uneasy about carrying on with business as usual whilst the world is in crisis! Whilst our tees can’t save the world, we can donate the entire profits from now until the end of lockdown to the Covid-19 response fund and other charities helping.”

Meander is a member of “1% for the planet”, donating 1% of sales to environmental charities and are carbon neutral. The company works entirely with European manufacturers to keep the footprint low and offset the carbon it does use by planting trees in Scottish woodlands.

The company was co-founded in 2018 by Jill and Steve Henry, following a charity cycle trip that the couple organised from London to Paris, where they struggled to find versatile performance clothing that wasn’t covered in logos or bright neon, and that could be worn off the bike too. The resulting sustainable range of timeless and multi-functional products, for both men and women, fuses performance fabrics with a minimalist style, ideal for everyday wear.

Meander has provided a capsule wardrobe list of recommended styles to help you work in comfort during this difficult period - and best of all, you’ll be able to wear these pieces time and again once things are back to normal too.

“We recommend The Adventure Trousers, £89,” says Jill. “They are a smart yet comfortable trouser with four-way stretch and water-resistant fabric, and have been described by our customers as ‘trousers of dreams’ and ‘the most comfortable ever’ - no wonder they’re our bestsellers!”

“ I also love the Meander Sweat, £75, which is made from super-soft brushed organic cotton. It’s also been treated with anti-odour technology, so you can wear it all week long without the need to wash it. And our Weekender Tee, from £59, is a really soft and comfortable tee, which is made from a blend of eco dry-release yarns, recycled polyester with cashmere. It also offers quick-dry, moisture-wicking and anti-odour benefits, so it’s perfect for daily exercise as well as just lounging.”
