Five new restaurants to visit in Scotland this autumn

The foodie scene in Scotland is hot hot hot at the moment with delicious places new popping up across the country this season. Fancy trying out somewhere new? Here are our pick of the best new restaurants to visit in Scotland this autumn.

Mesa, Glasgow

Love brunch? You’ll love Mesa. The sister to the much-loved Cafe Strange Brew, Mesa popped up in the East End earlier this year, offering up breakfast, brunch and lunch from 9 to 5 everyday. The menu is full of deliciously creative dishes, including pancakes with spiced pumpkin puree, whipped ricotta, blackberries, pecan dukkah and maple syrup - the ultimate stack, in our opinion!

fRANCO MANCA, EDINBURGH

The latest addition to St Andrew Square is Franco Manca. Originating in Brixton, Frano Manca has now opened branches across the UK, with Edinburgh being it's first venue north of the border. The pizzeria has stayed true to its roots and uses small suppliers, local ingredients and fresh dough made daily, serving up their signature sourdough pizzas and Neapolitan-inspired cuisine.

The dam, Glasgow

The Dam is a no-frills, all-fun kind of affair; a place you can party the night away or pop in for a much-needed brunch the next day. You’ll not find anything here that will be mindful of your waistline (just look at these fries), but you will find delicious flavours, great tunes and a perfect Glesga’ atmosphere. Try the ‘egg slut’ inspired breakfast rolls and you won’t be disappointed.

Kinneuchar Inn, Fife

Recently refurbished and taken on by renowned chef James Ferguson and partner Alethea Palmer, The Kinneuchar Inn in the village of Kilconquhar opened at the end of September. Serving up delicious local produce from the East Neuk, this pub and restaurant is a definite destination in itself. The menus will focus on the integrity of the food and produce without over complicating the dishes. We are very excited to see what’s to come from this very experienced duo.
