Northern Skies: A Celestial Highland Experience at Dornoch Station

This autumn, Dornoch Station invites visitors to look up and marvel at the night sky with a truly special experience. As part of the Autumn Highland Festival Fortnight, the hotel will host Northern Skies: Stargazing & Aurora Experience in collaboration with Scotland’s Night Sky, offering an unforgettable evening beneath the stars.

Running from 2–4 November (6pm–10pm), the event promises a magical blend of learning and wonder, led by Andrew Allan, expert astrophotographer and founder of Scotland’s Night Sky. Guests will begin their evening at Dornoch Station with a warm welcome, hot drinks and snacks before venturing to Dornoch Beach for a hands-on astrophotography workshop.

Under Andrew’s guidance, participants will discover how to capture breathtaking images of the night sky, from constellations to the elusive Aurora Borealis, using their own cameras and telescopes provided on the night.

Tickets are £20 per person, and for those wishing to linger a little longer under the Highland sky, overnight stays at Dornoch Station can also be booked — the perfect way to round off an evening of celestial discovery. Perhaps making the most of Marine Hotels’ Autumn Offers.
