This luxurious Scottish staycation comes with the royal seal of approval

One of Edinburgh’s top tourist attractions and a luxury floating hotel have come together to introduce a once in a lifetime exclusive package, allowing guests to dine like a royal in superyacht glamour. Tempted? Read on…

The grand exterior of the Fingal

We can’t think of anything more luxurious than stepping aboard a glamorous yacht in our finest clothes, only to spend the evening feasting on culinary delights and sipping on expertly-mixed cocktails. And what if we were to tell you that you can do just that in the Scottish capital?

The Royal Yacht Britannia, which is docked in Edinburgh and remains one of the country’s best-loved attractions, has announced that it will be rolling out the red carpet for guests as they come aboard to enjoy a personalised behind the scenes tour whilst enjoying a glass of Moët & Chandon Champagne and delicious canapes. Guests will then sit down to a fantastic four-course bespoke dinner designed by Executive Chef, Mark Alston, in The Officers’ Wardroom where the Royal Yacht’s Officers would have previously dined.

The cocktails aboard the Fingal are second to none

Adorned with silver artefacts on loan from the Britannia Officers’ Wardroom Collection, and official Royal photographs, ‘The Wardroom’ is a unique and intimate setting in which guests are able to relax and picture days gone by when members of the Royal Family dined there as guests of the Officers. That’s right; you’ll be walking in the footsteps of the Queen herself.

The Fingal's cabins are outfitted with the sleekest interiors

Guests will then enjoy a nightcap aboard Royal Yacht Britannia’s sister ship, Fingal, before retiring to one of Fingal’s 23 luxury cabins. Each cabin is named after Stevenson lighthouses, inspired by the ships rich maritime heritage. What’s more, the Fingal holds the top spot as the capital’s number one hotel listed on Tripadvisor, meaning you’ll be drifting off in one of the city’s most sought-after rooms.

‘We are delighted to be able to introduce this brand new offering to the public,’ shares Fiona Strauss, Fingal’s Brand Director. ‘Guests are able to go behind the scenes on The Royal Yacht Britannia and dine like an Officer in the ship’s Wardroom. Dining on Britannia is truly a once in a lifetime experience. From artisan breads to delicate petits fours, everything is made on board in the original Royal Galley by our talented in-house team of chefs, led by Executive Chef Mark Alston. Guests will then retire to Britannia’s sister ship, Fingal for a nightcap and a perfect night sleep, rounding off a truly unforgettable experience.’

We don’t know about you, but we can’t think of a better way to celebrate a special occasion.

Prices start from £250 per person (excluding accommodation and based on a minimum of four people with a minimum spend of £1000). Available for up to six guests from two separate households in line with Government guidelines. The experience is exclusive to guests also staying aboard Fingal.
