Spirit of North Hop food & drink festival arrives in Dundee this month
Popular food and drink festival, North Hop, is coming to Dundee for this first time this November. Spirit of North Hop Dundee will take up residence inside a giant pop-up marquee at Apex City Hotel on Saturday 24th November.
The 1,125 square metre marquee is set to host a series of unique events and festivals over the next few months, including Spirit of North Hop Dundee, which will focus on celebrating Scottish spirits, liqueurs and drinks.
North Hop has been a huge hit with Scottish foodies and drinks enthusiasts since it began in Inverness in 2014, and its new guise - Spirit of North Hop - will bring the celebrations to Dundee for the first time.
The festival will run over two ticketed session on Saturday 24th November, with an afternoon session running from 1pm to 5pm and evening session from 6pm to 10pm.
Ticket-holders will be able to enjoy cocktails, spirits and beers, in addition to complimentary tasters from 18 of Scotland’s most exciting distilleries. There will also be tasty bites from street food vendors to tuck in to, a local marketplace for shopping, and live music throughout the event.
As well as distilleries like St Andrews Gin Co, Mothership Scotland, LoneWolf Spirits, Electric Spirit Co, The Garden Shed Drinks Co and Arbikie, Spirit of North Hop Dundee will also host pop-up bars from The King of Islington, Abandon Ship Bar and 71 Brewing.
Indoor street food stalls will offer Mexican, Indian, Spanish and Canadian cuisine, plenty of veggie and vegan offerings, as well as tasty sweet treats and locally brewed coffee from Angus businesses Artisana and Sacred Grounds.
Festival Director Michelle Russell said: “This is the first time North Hop has put on an event in the Tayside area and we’re so excited about putting on a really fun event focused on bringing together great food, drink and music with a strong local influence. We have some fantastic extras too such as themed pop-up bars, a carefully curated makers market from Tea Green, street art and an ‘Urban Lounge’ from the super funky Urban Quarters.”
Tickets for Spirit of North Hop Dundee are £25 and can now be purchased online or picked up from venues in Dundee.
