The Ivy Glasgow Is Moving, And There’s A Very Good Reason To Visit Before It Does
The Ivy Buchanan Street will close on 4th October ahead of the restaurant’s move to St Vincent Place.
The Ivy is preparing to leave Buchanan Street for a bigger Glasgow home, and diners have one final reason to visit before it goes. Until 4th October, bills come with the chance to unlock prizes at its new St Vincent Place restaurants.
The Ivy’s move from Buchanan Street to St Vincent Place is now within touching distance. Its current Glasgow restaurant will close after service on Sunday 4th October, before The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie opens at 30–40 St Vincent Place on 20th October. It will be joined there by Scotland’s first The Ivy Asia, also opening on 20th October.
Before the keys are handed over for good, though, The Ivy is giving diners the chance to win something of their own.
One Last Reason To Visit Buchanan Street
Inside The Ivy Buchanan Street, which is preparing to close before The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie and The Ivy Asia open on St Vincent Place.
From now until Sunday, October 4th, guests dining at The Ivy Buchanan Street will receive a specially designed key card with their bill, subject to availability. Scan the QR code, turn the virtual key and a prize is revealed.
Those prizes range from complimentary Champagne and dining experiences to the headline draw, The Ivy Glasgow Black Card, which gives one winner complimentary dining for a year.
It is a neat way of marking the end of the Buchanan Street chapter, while pointing firmly towards what comes next.
Two Restaurants, One New Address
The new opening is more than a straightforward relocation. The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie and The Ivy Asia will sit together inside the former City of Glasgow Bank building at 30–40 St Vincent Place, creating a 265-cover operation across the two restaurants. The Brasserie will account for 175 covers, with a further 90 at The Ivy Asia.
For regulars, the Brasserie will retain the familiar all-day dining format, while The Ivy Asia introduces a very different proposition, with Asian-inspired dishes, cocktails and the more theatrical interiors associated with the brand. It will also be The Ivy Asia’s first Scottish restaurant.
The setting adds another layer. The restaurants are moving into the historic former City of Glasgow Bank building, designed by Scottish architect John Burnet Sr, giving The Ivy considerably more space and a rather grander backdrop for its next Glasgow chapter.
Dates For The Diary
The Ivy Buchanan Street remains open until Sunday, October 4th. Guests dining before then can receive a key card with their bill and enter the prize promotion, while bookings are already open for both new restaurants from Tuesday, October 20th.
For anyone who has been meaning to squeeze in one final lunch or dinner on Buchanan Street, there is now an added incentive.
