The New Strathberry Bag I’m Already Obsessing Over? Meet The Corda
There are bags you buy because you need a bag. And then there are the ones that become part of your personality. My Strathberry sits very firmly in the latter category.
Honestly, whenever she comes out, the compliments follow. Coffee meetings, lunches in town, date nights, fashion events… someone always asks about the bag. There’s just something about Strathberry’s quiet luxury aesthetic that feels polished without trying too hard.
And now? There’s a new bag on the block to hanker after.
Meet the Corda.
The latest launch from Strathberry reimagines the classic bucket bag silhouette with the kind of elevated detailing the Edinburgh-born brand does so well. Crafted from supple leather, the Corda features a refined belt-inspired closure with delicate cord detailing, all anchored by the instantly recognisable signature Music Bar hardware.
The result feels modern but timeless. Structured but soft. Minimal, yet still statement-making.
And for me? The biggest win is that she’s crossbody.
In this season of life, if a bag isn’t hands-free, it’s probably not making it into my regular rotation. Running between meetings, coffees, events, school logistics and the general chaos of modern womanhood means practicality matters. But I still want something beautiful hanging from my shoulder.
The Corda delivers both.
Available in two sizes, it’s designed to move effortlessly from day to evening — worn crossbody while dashing around town, then transformed into an elegant top-handle style come dinner time. It’s versatile in that understated, expensive-looking way Strathberry has perfected.
It feels like the kind of bag you’ll reach for constantly. The one that works with oversized tailoring and trainers during the day, but still holds its own beside a great coat and heels at night.
Quiet luxury may still be reigning supreme, but the Corda proves functionality doesn’t have to come at the expense of style. And frankly, I fear she’s just been added to my wishlist immediately.

Afternoon Tea, But Make It Fashion
Fresh from launching the bag I’m already obsessing over — the new Corda crossbody — Strathberry has also turned its attention to afternoon tea. And honestly? It might be the chicest collab of the season.
Partnering with Fairmont St Andrews, the Scottish luxe accessories brand has launched a limited-edition Strathberry Afternoon Tea inspired by its iconic silhouettes, signature Music Bar detailing and timeless Scottish craftsmanship.
Served in the hotel’s light-filled Atrium Lounge overlooking the North Sea, the experience transforms Strathberry’s polished aesthetic into beautifully executed pâtisserie and elegant savoury bites. Think passionfruit and coconut shortbread “handbag charms”, Champagne and white chocolate macarons finished with the brand’s signature Music Bar and an orange marmalade and vanilla Madeira cake inspired by the Georgia bag.
The savoury side is equally indulgent with John Ross Jnr smoked salmon and crème fraîche sandwiches, haggis and cheese cruffins, lemon and lime crab choux and warm scones served with homemade compôte, lemon curd and clotted cream.
It also feels like the perfect companion piece to the brand’s latest launch, the Corda — the effortlessly elegant new crossbody bag designed to move seamlessly from daytime meetings to evening dinners. A little like this afternoon tea, really.
Served every Friday and Saturday, prices start from £45 per person, with Champagne Afternoon Tea from £60 including Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut NV.
