Whilst we’re all spending so much time indoors, it’s only natural that you might be getting a little bit bored of your surroundings. Hours each day spent in the same room is a quickfire way to spark the imagination into making some changes, that’s for sure.

However, being a bit bored of your home in its status quo doesn’t have to mean that you have a full renovation project on your hands. Some simple, quick updates can be all it takes to refresh your rooms and bring some energy back into the home. And because money is on all of our minds at the moment, we’ve found the easiest interiors updates for you, which all cost less than £25 - meaning you can update your space in a fun and frugal way.

Change up your wall art

Staring at the same prints and posters each day is likely to induce fatigue, so shop around for fresh prints that will excite you again. Juniqe, Desenio and H&M Home all stock on-trend, budget-friendly posters and prints that are ready to frame, or you can choose an independent designer and shop local too.

Bring in some fresh flowers

A new vase and a bunch of blooms can do wonders, you know. Who doesn’t feel pure joy when they see a huge bouquet as they enter a room? Treating yourself to a snazzy new vase, and then either ordering some letterbox flowers or picking some up on your weekly shop, can breathe new life into your living space.

Add some ornaments

A few little trinkets and treasures scattered around your home can breathe new life into the space, and give it points of interest it didn’t have before. Try bringing in new decorative items, like mirrors, ornaments or even framed pictures or lidded boxes (which double up as being places to hide all those little bits and pieces that clutter up the room), to give you new things to look at and enjoy.

One of our top tips is to ‘shop from your home’, meaning bringing items in from other rooms and switching things up, to help you create a new look without spending too much.

Paint a feature wall

If you can get your hands on some paint right now, then a super dramatic way to change your interiors is to try out a new colour. You don’t need to do the whole room if budget, time or space won’t allow, but even painting a feature wall in a striking new colour will make a massive difference to the look and vibe of your home.

Add the finishing touches

Bringing in special items, like pretty table cloths, decorative napkins, gorgeous mugs, candlesticks, even embellished coasters, can all make a huge difference to little corners of your home - so if budget doesn’t allow for a whole home transformation, focus on creating pockets of prettiness all around the home. It’s a failsafe way to bring a smile to your face.
