KESTIN AW26: The Hebrideans, Where the Clothes Belong
There are some places where the clothes make sense before you even put them on. Islay is one of them.
For Autumn/Winter 26, KESTIN takes its collection to the Hebrides, shooting the campaign against a landscape of open waters, dark stone, seaweed covered rocks, overgrown grass and weather that looks capable of changing its mind halfway through the day. It is a setting that doesn't need much styling.
The collection is called The Hebrideans, drawing on the character and resilience of the Hebridean people, with the clothing feeling like an extension of the environment rather than something placed into it.
That distinction matters.
There is nothing particularly precious about the AW26 wardrobe. Corduroy, denim, wool, ripstop, fleece and cotton appear in familiar forms: jackets, overshirts, trousers, shirts and knitwear. The palette moves through peat, navy, olive, rust, charcoal and washed neutrals. It is clothing designed to deal with the same things the landscape does.
Wind. Rain. Cold. A long walk to somewhere that could have been reached by car.
The Huntly Jacket arrives in peat-toned corduroy with a matching Doune Pant. The Barra Overshirt comes in washed denim. The Ormiston Jacket uses a speckled wool blend, while Fair Isle-inspired knitwear and brushed Shetland wool bring the kind of texture that makes sense when the temperature drops.
None of it feels overly styled.
That is the point.
KESTIN has always worked somewhere between Scottish heritage and modern utility, and AW26 feels particularly comfortable in that space.
The landscape isn't the backdrop. It is part of the collection.
There is something romantic about that.
A jacket designed in Edinburgh, worn on Islay, with the Atlantic behind it. A wool sweater against a stone wall. Corduroy against peat-coloured earth. Clothes made for a city that still remember where they came from.
It makes the collection feel less like a seasonal wardrobe and more like a uniform for somewhere.
Somewhere wet.
Somewhere beautiful.
Somewhere you probably shouldn't have forgotten your coat.
The Hebrides have their own pace. KESTIN's AW26 wardrobe looks like it knows how to keep up.
