Graham Norton is Bringing Live Virgin Radio Back to Edinburgh This Fringe
Graham Norton is returning to Virgin Hotels Edinburgh for a Live Show this August as part of Edinburgh Festival Fringe
Edinburgh in August always comes with a certain electricity. The pavements are busier, the city feels a little louder, and suddenly everyone is looking for the show, that dinner booking or the one event worth building a day around. This year, Graham Norton’s return to Virgin Hotels Edinburgh looks set to be one of them.
On Sunday 9 August, the broadcaster, author and comedian will host a special live Virgin Radio UK broadcast from Greyfriars Hall inside Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, right in the heart of the Old Town. Running from 2pm to 5pm and with just 65 audience places available, it promises to be one of those Fringe moments that feels properly intimate, the chance to see one of Britain’s most-loved broadcasters live, with celebrity guests, stories, laughs and all the buzz of festival season folded in.
Graham will be joined by broadcaster, comedian and podcast co-host Maria McErlane, with further guests still to be announced. As an official Ambassador for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, he is no stranger to the city in August, and the setting feels particularly fitting: a stylish hotel moments from the Royal Mile, Victoria Street and many of the venues that make Fringe week such a whirlwind.
Tickets for the live broadcast are priced at £20 per person, with the option to turn it into a full afternoon out by adding a Long Italian Lunch at Eve before the show for £55 per person. There will also be a limited number of overnight packages available for anyone tempted to make a proper weekend of it.
The live show is part of a bigger August line-up at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, which is fast becoming one of the city’s most interesting Fringe addresses. Graham and Maria McErlane will also bring their Wanging On Live podcast to the Fringe on Friday, 7th August, while Geoff Lloyd will host his evening Virgin Radio show live from the hotel from 10th to 14th August.
For anyone plotting a stylish Fringe weekend, or simply looking for one event with a little extra sparkle in the middle of Edinburgh’s busiest cultural month, this is one to bookmark now.
