New Luxury Boutique Hotel Opens in the Heart of St Andrews Following £7.5 Million Transformation
Looking for something a little different for a special night away? There is a new opening in St Andrews that you need to have on your radar.
The Kithmore has officially opened its doors following a £7.5 million transformation of a landmark property on North Street, just moments from the Old Course and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club.
Occupying three elegant Georgian townhouses dating back to 1847, the new boutique hotel combines heritage architecture with contemporary interiors, creating a stylish new destination in the heart of Scotland's most famous golfing town.
The 44-bedroom hotel has been carefully restored and reimagined, with each room individually designed to blend original period features with bespoke furnishings, curated artwork and modern luxury touches. Bathrooms feature Italian stone-inspired porcelain tiles, bespoke vanity units and premium fittings from AXOR and Hansgrohe.
But The Kithmore isn't just targeting golfers.
Inspired by the Scots word kith, meaning friendship and familiarity, the hotel has been created as a welcoming base for luxurious weekend escape seekers, food lovers and those visiting the town for celebrations, business or simply a coastal break.
The opening also introduces Bennie's, a new all-day Scottish restaurant and bar designed to appeal to both hotel guests and locals.
Named after the Bennie family, who played an important role in the building's hospitality history, the restaurant champions Scotland's natural larder through a menu built around local produce and elevated comfort food. Expect dishes including hand-dived Orkney scallops, Peppercorn Chicken & Haggis Pie, premium Scotch beef and beer-battered St Monans haddock, alongside seasonal specials showcasing East Neuk langoustines and St Andrews Bay lobster.
With its own dedicated entrance and a south-facing terrace seating up to 30 guests, Bennie's aims to become a destination in its own right for gorgeous long lunches, relaxed dinners and drinks in the sunshine.
The project has also created 36 new hospitality jobs and marks the latest addition to The Marram Collection, which also includes The Leddie in Aberlady and The Bushmills Inn in Northern Ireland.
Speaking about the opening, General Manager Kathryn McNairn said: "We have assembled an exceptional team and created a hotel that feels warm, personal and deeply connected to its surroundings. From the bedrooms and public spaces to Bennie's restaurant, every detail has been designed with the guest experience in mind."
Rooms at The Kithmore start from £415 per night.
