Sourcing fine materials and undertaking high standards in manufacturing are both loyal to the brand’s ethos. Designed at C.Nicol HQ set within the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands, each bag is hand-cut, sewn and finished by a team of craftswomen , led by a chief maker who has been creating handbags for some of Britain’s best leather brands for 15 years.

Since graduating in 2009, Hayley Scanlan has been very busy indeed; in 2012, she launched her namesake label, opened her own Dundee store in 2017, and even earned herself a doctorate in 2019. But one of her biggest achievements is starring in Netflix’s Next in Fashion, where she fought off competition from around the world to become one of the 18 hopefuls to win a life-changing cash prize and a contract with luxury fashion behemoth, Net-a-Porter. Hailing from Dundee, she has ensured Scotland is very much in the fashion spotlight in 2020.
