Viral US Soda Brand poppi Launches in the UK with an Edinburgh Pop-up

Heads up, the colourful soda brand that’s been dominating social feeds in the US has officially arrived in the UK and its heading to Edinburgh for a pop-up.

poppi, the viral “better-for-you” fizzy drink, marks its first international expansion outside the United States with a nationwide launch this week.

Founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife duo Allison and Stephen Ellsworth, poppi began life as a homemade kitchen experiment in Texas. Looking for a healthier alternative to traditional soda, Allison started blending fruit juice, apple cider vinegar and sparkling water to create a lighter, low-sugar drink that still delivered on flavour.

Fast forward to 2026 and the brand has built a cult following online thanks to its bold fruity flavours, bright design and pop-culture presence.

Each can is low in sugar and calories, high in fibre and made with fruit juice, offering what the brand describes as “feel-good fizz” without sacrificing taste.

The UK launch includes five flavours: Strawberry Lemon, Raspberry Rose, Lemon Lime, Wild Berry and Orange.

“Launching poppi in the UK is incredibly meaningful to me,” said co-founder Allison Ellsworth. “When we started poppi, the goal was simple: create a soda people could feel good about drinking. We’re excited about this next chapter and can’t wait to be part of a new community.”

The drinks will be available nationwide from 5 March at Tesco and Pret A Manger, marking the start of a new partnership between the brand and the high-street café chain.

To celebrate, a special “Pret A poppi” collaboration will roll out across select Pret locations in London, Manchester, Newcastle and Edinburgh from 10 March for two weeks. The in-store takeovers will feature full poppi branding, live DJs and complimentary poppi sampling throughout the day from 10am to 5pm.

Limited-edition merchandise will also be available for the first 100 guests arriving from 2pm each day, while one lucky customer will have the chance to win Pret for a year.

The tour will stop at Pret a Manger Princes Street, Edinburgh on March 19th and 20th. Expect plenty of colourful cans, bold flavours and social-media-ready moments as poppi brings its feel-good fizz to the UK.
