Downton Dining at The Ivy
The curtain rises this week on Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale and The Ivy Collection is rolling out a dining experience to match the occasion. Available nationwide, the limited-edition menu channels the elegance of 1930s Britain with a signature Ivy twist, inviting guests to dine like the Crawleys for two courses at £27.95 or three at £34.95.
Starters set the scene with Severn & Wye Smoked Salmon, a favourite of upper-class tables, or the Salade Du Verger, where figs, pecans and truffle vinaigrette nod to the refined yet produce-led dishes of country estates.
For the main event, expect drama and comfort in equal measure. The Ivy Shepherd’s Pie, a beloved classic, arrives slow-braised and rich with rosemary and red wine. Grilled Lemon Sole in beurre noisette and capers is pure dinner service decadence, while the Garden Vegetable Curry reflects the global influences of the era. Braised Duck Curry and a 21 Day Aged Sirloin Steak with peppercorn sauce add further depth to the cast.
Desserts deliver the grand finale. The Ivy Chocolate Dome, melting open to honeycomb and caramel, is pure theatre. The flambéed Orchard Apple Tart with Calvados evokes the drama of a lavish banquet, while a Caramelised Crème Brûlée offers timeless simplicity.
No evening at Downton ends without a toast. Guests can raise a glass of The Ivy Guest Champagne or indulge in The Gilded Peach Cobbler, a 1930s-inspired cocktail blending sloe gin, Crème de Pêche, honey aperitif and Champagne.
Executive Chef Sean Burbidge says: “We’ve taken great joy in creating dishes that reflect the elegance of the era, inspired by the film’s characters, 1930s flavours and even plates once served at The Original Ivy.”
The silver screen may be closing on Downton, but this menu is your chance to savour the finale in true cinematic style.
