Shellfish, Style & Scottish Flavour: Duck & Waffle Launches Limited-Edition Seafood Menu

Fresh flavours, bold pairings and a toast to Scotland’s rich maritime bounty — Duck & Waffle’s new set menu is the city’s tastiest catch this May.

To mark the return of the St James Quarter Seafood Festival, 3rd to 5th May, Duck & Waffle Edinburgh has unveiled a brand-new Seafood Set Menu — and it’s a mouthwatering tribute to Scotland’s world-class coastline. Available throughout May, this limited-time experience invites diners to dive into fresh, flavour-packed dishes crafted by Executive Chef Jonathon Bowers, using the best seasonal catch from local suppliers.

Expect bold starters like Scorched Scottish Mussels in nduja cream and Charred Scallop Crudo laced with passionfruit and sea herbs. Mains offer both comfort and creativity — from elevated Fish & Chips with minted mushy peas to a hearty Cataplana Fish Stew, swimming in a shellfish bisque. Vegetarians are not left out, with a standout Miso Glazed Aubergine served with romesco and crispy chickpeas. And for dessert? The show-stopping Tiramisu Waffle, infused with Bowmore single malt, is reason enough to book.

Adding even more sparkle to the month-long celebration is the launch of Oyster Hour, served every Sunday to Friday, 4–7pm in the bar and on the terrace. With oysters, crisp cocktails and chilled glasses of wine on offer, it's an early evening ritual made for seafood lovers.

Chef Bowers will also take to the stage on Sunday 4 May at 3pm for a special live demo during the festival — showcasing expert seafood and wine pairings designed to inspire and educate.

“We’re proud to celebrate Scottish seafood and shine a spotlight on sustainable sourcing and exceptional local flavour,” says Bowers. “This is a menu that’s made to be savoured — in true Duck & Waffle style.”

The Seafood Set Menu runs from 1–31 May 2025. Two courses £30, three courses £38.
